Rosy Tea

Today was the perfect weather for a little rosy tea party, until the bees in the clover became a little too friendly, and said tea party moved back indoors. 

Both my boys love homemade rosy tea, and it has become a traditional springtime drink.  Made at the end of winter with dried rose petals, dried rose hips, a hint of cinnamon and some dried orange peel, it is put away until a declared “rosy tea party” day comes along in spring.  Steep the ingredients in hot water, and enjoy either warm, or pour over ice and have iced rosy tea.  It goes very well with sliced fresh strawberries, pikelets and whipped cream.
